The camera is a tool for me to better understand, rather than to be understood. Curiosity about the things around me often becomes the starting point of my images. Within my images I’m looking for details that contain a punctum, as described by Roland Barthes. He defines punctum as those aspects of a photograph that unexpectedly and personally affect the viewer, often in ways that are emotional and subjective. For me, punctum lies in the tiniest elements of a photo that can trigger emotional connection and reflection. I believe that this emotional response is not only connected to what is depicted in an image, but also to the way a photograph physically exists through paper, texture, or printing technique.

In a visual culture dominated by reproducible digital images, I love to experiment with alternative printing methods to create prints in which the making process remains visible. I’m interested in how meaning can shift when an image becomes a physical experience. Currently, I’m exploring how to move my photography from being an image of something to being an object by itself.

Through creating, I’m constantly reflecting and researching my position in relation to everything around me. It is a way of exploring who I am, and how my perception takes shape through images and materials. Perception is a recurring theme in my work. I don’t see photography as a way to show an objective reality, but as something shaped by a personal way of looking. It allows me to question how we look at what surrounds us, how images influence our understanding, and the role of the photographer within that process.
